Police Unity Tour: Frank P Matthews Honours Fallen Police Officers 30/07/2024 Frank P Matthews Supports UK Police Unity Tour Frank P Matthews proudly supported the West Midlands chapter of the UK Police Unity Tour, a significant event organised by Care of Police Survivors (COPS) to honour and remember police officers who have died in the line of duty. This year’s tour saw officers, staff, and survivors from West Mercia Police, Warwickshire Police, Staffs Police, and West Midlands Police join colleagues from across the UK. The participants cycled in memory of fallen colleagues and family members, raising funds to support the families of these heroes. As part of this heartfelt tribute, Frank P Matthews’ Marketing Manager and former West Mercia Officer, Zak Southwood, took part in his third tour, assisting the West Midlands team by managing logistics and ensuring the ride’s safety. In a poignant moment, Zak joined West Mercia Police Assistant Chief Constable Grant Willis to plant a tree in honour of the fallen officers, symbolising remembrance and respect. Care of Police Survivors (COPS) COPS is a UK charity dedicated to supporting the families of police officers and staff who have lost their lives while on duty. Events like the Police Unity Tour not only raise funds but also foster a sense of community among the survivors, ensuring they remain connected to the wider police family. This year’s event culminated at the National Memorial Arboretum, where a Service of Remembrance was held to honour the fallen (COPS). Roll of Honour 2024 The Police Unity Tour also featured the Roll of Honour, a solemn acknowledgement of the officers who have tragically lost their lives in the past year.
