Description: 'Skyrocket', also known as blue pencil juniper or upright blue juniper, has a tall and extremely narrow, columnar growth habit. It's short, compact, silvery blue foliage is evergreen with virtually no change from season to season. The blue of the foliage intensifies with cooler weather and small dark berries appear. The formal, upright shape makes it ideal for planting in rows or to provide vertical interest.
History: Rocky Mountain Juniper is a species of juniper native to western North America. It grows at altitudes up to 2,500m (7,000ft) on dry soils, often together with other juniper species.
Juniperus Growing Tips: Thrives particularly well on fresh to moist, well-drained soil in the sun to partial shade. It also proves to be extremely robust, frost-resistant, compatible with cuts and even hard-wearing.
